Despite shifts that acknowledge the diversity of eating disorders, treatment at midlife is less common than at earlier ages. Understanding the challenges at midlife helps support effective and compassionate treatment. This workshop will include the personal recovery story of Betsy Brenner, whose memoir has inspired many to seek treatment.

Speaker Biographies:
Heidi J. Dalzell, PsyD, is a Clinical Psychologist, who maintains a busy practice specializing in eating disorders and trauma. Dr. Dalzell has a private practice, which incorporates feminist principles and perspectives. She is also a prolific author covering subjects such as eating disorders, gender identity, and spirituality. She has spoken widely on these topics.
Betsy Brenner is an author, recovery speaker, and peer support mentor. In her 2021 memoir, “The Longest Match: Rallying to Defeat an Eating Disorder in Midlife,” Betsy details her journey of recovery from a midlife eating disorder.
