Lauran Sauter, Executive Director
Lauran joined Renewed in 2013. Lauran is a proud alumna of the University of Tennessee as well as the University of South Carolina where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and her Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communication, respectively.
Having previously worked in marketing with several nonprofit organizations, she is excited to be part of the Renewed team and enjoys using her skills and experience to help others overcome hardship. Lauran is from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and currently lives in Nashville with her husband and their Saint Bernard, Maxwell.
Courtney Grimes, LCSW, Clinical Director
Courtney was introduced to Renewed in 2005 during her recovery from an eating disorder. She has been involved (and in love) with the organization ever since. Courtney was the keynote speaker for Evening of Song and Story in 2009, has served on the Renewed Membership Committee and serves as lead trainer for the Renewed Speakers Bureau. She created and facilitates the Southeast’s only free support group for college aged women (CO-ED) who are in recovery, and currently acts as Tennessee’s eating disorder referral clinician, connecting patients with recovery resources statewide.
Courtney has been a part of the Nashville music industry since 1999, working with record labels such as Sony Records and DreamWorks Records and with artists such as Toby Keith, Jessica Andrews, Daryl Worley, Mary Chapin Carpenter, LeAnn Rimes and Lyle Lovett. She attended the University of Georgia and graduated from Belmont University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Opera Performance. After leaving the music industry, she received a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. In addition to her work with Renewed, Courtney is a psychotherapist in private practice with Symmetry Counseling Services. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia.
Brigid Meagher, Outreach Coordinator
Brigid was born and raised in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Louisville in 2018, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Development & Counseling at Vanderbilt University. She plans to focus her future career efforts within the field of eating disorders as a licensed professional counselor. In her spare time, Brigid loves being out on the lake, spending time with her cat Louie, and eating all the hot chicken Nashville has to offer.
She joined the Renewed team as a practicum student before taking over as the Outreach Coordinator in the fall of 2019. Brigid is very excited to continue working with the community through Renewed, making a positive impact both within the organization and the local Nashville population.
Gigi Rose, Development Director
GiGi grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia, but has called Nashville home since 1990. She is a graduate of West Virginia University (Go Mountaineers!) with degrees in English, Russian, and Russian Literature. After a long tenure at the Nashville Scene as a Senior Advertising Executive, GiGi shifted her focus to working with local nonprofits including Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement, the Tennessee Office for Refugees, and Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Her passion lies with providing resources to underserved populations and helping people requiring direct services like those offered by Renewed.
GiGi is currently pursuing a master’s degree in library science at Middle Tennessee State University and hopes to graduate at the same time as her son who is also at MTSU and majoring in music. In addition to her nonprofit career and studying everything there is to know about managing a library, GiGi is an avid reader and writer, as well as an artist creating handcrafted bookmarks while binge-watching crime shows. She is thrilled to be part of the Renewed team and looks forward to making a difference in the lives of those dealing with eating disorders.
Mimi Cole, Intern
Mimi is a junior at Vanderbilt University double majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and Child Development, and minoring in special education. She loves Jesus, sweet potatoes, caramel, and is passionate about people and their stories. Mimi is excited to be a part of the Renewed team!
Heather Spradlin, Intern
Heather is originally from Bentonville, Arkansas and is attending school at Belmont University. She is pursuing her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in business administration, and plans on continuing her education in pursuit of a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a focus on eating disorder research and treatment. Heather struggled with anorexia nervosa growing up, and feels so passionate about helping others in the same way that she was helped. Her end goal is to open up her own non-profit treatment facility for men and women struggling with eating disorders. In her free time, she is most likely with her cats, Ellie Mae and Ezra.
