unnamedLauran Sauter, Executive Director

Lauran joined Renewed in 2013. Lauran is a proud alumna of the University of Tennessee as well as the University of South Carolina where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and her Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communication, respectively.

Having previously worked in marketing with several nonprofit organizations, she is excited to be part of the Renewed team and enjoys using her skills and experience to help others overcome hardship. Lauran is from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and currently lives in Nashville with her husband and their Saint Bernard, Maxwell.

Courtney Grimes, LCSW, Clinical Director

Courtney was introduced to Renewed in 2005 during her recovery from an eating disorder. She has been involved (and in love) with the organization ever since. Courtney was the keynote speaker for Evening of Song and Story in 2009, has served on the Renewed Membership Committee and serves as lead trainer for the Renewed Speakers Bureau. She created the Southeast’s only free support group for college aged women (CO-ED) who are in recovery, and currently acts as Tennessee’s eating disorder referral clinician, connecting patients with recovery resources statewide.

Courtney has been a part of the Nashville music industry since 1999, working with record labels such as Sony Records and DreamWorks Records and with artists such as Toby Keith, Jessica Andrews, Daryl Worley, Mary Chapin Carpenter, LeAnn Rimes and Lyle Lovett. She attended the University of Georgia and graduated from Belmont University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Opera Performance. After leaving the music industry, she received a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. In addition to her work with Renewed, Courtney is a psychotherapist in private practice with Symmetry Counseling Services and Founder & Owner of The Collective. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia.

Ashton Maguire, Outreach Coordinator

Ashton joined Renewed in 2022. She is originally from Atlanta, GA. Ashton is an alumna of Furman University in Greenville, SC where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2021. Her passion for the study of eating disorders began in her undergraduate education where she researched eating disorders and witnessed disordered eating habits in the college environment.

She currently attends graduate school at Vanderbilt University where she will earn her Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling in May 2024. Ashton plans to pursue licensure as a professional counselor working with those recovering from eating disorders as well as co-occurring disorders. Ashton enjoys searching for the best brussels sprout in town (recommendations appreciated), hot yoga, and playing with her two kittens, Hazel and Nyx.
