Welcome to PaintED!
PaintED is our free art program. Together, with a Registered Art Therapist, participants affected by body eating disorders and body image concerns have the opportunity to creatively express themselves and their emotions in a welcoming environment. Each PaintED class has a project that will be completed during that meeting. No previous art experience is necessary — all artistic levels are welcome.

Meet the Instructor
Brianne Burgoon graduated with her Master of Education in Art Therapy in August of 2015 from Wayne State University in Detroit. Originally from Michigan, Brianne received her Bachelors in Fine Art from the University of Michigan focusing on Arts and Community Engagement. After many years leading healing art groups and community enrichment programs in Michigan, Brianne found her way to Nashville, TN, a place she now calls home. Brianne has over 10 years of experience working with diverse populations and a variety of ages. Since finding a passion in art and healing, Brianne has worked in educational, medical, and community settings finding ways to help individuals on their pursuit of wellness. Since moving to Nashville Brianne has worked as a clinical therapist, as well as art therapist in residential and acute hospital settings with children, adult, and geriatric patients. Brianne currently works with TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion a psychiatric hospital; leading groups on mindfulness, gratitude, and wellness. She focuses most of her practice on mindfulness based art therapy as well as acceptance commitment therapy techniques. Brianne is currently pursuing certification to become a yoga instructor with the hopes of tying together mindfulness techniques, movement, and art. Brianne tries to continually grow and gain more knowledge to help in her field as an art therapist. Brianne is currently the president of The Tennessee Art Therapy Association and has previously served as secretary.
