The Body Project
The Body Project is an evidence-based curriculum designed to help adolescent girls and young women resist cultural pressures to conform to an unachievable standard of female beauty and reduce their pursuit of unhealthy thinness. The Body Project is supported by more research than any other body image program. The curriculum, which is suitable for high school females and older (up to 40 years old), is facilitated by a trained leader and involves a series of verbal, written and behavioral exercises in which groups critique the thin ideal. Typical Body Project groups consist of 9-16 participants. Depending on the audience, the trained facilitator will select one of the following two options for their class structure:
Two 2-hour sessions (delivered in a 2 week timeframe)
Four 1-hour sessions (delivered in a 4 week timeframe)
